The basic device of modern weighing systems are strain gauges, the design of which is based on an elastic mechanical element that undergoes deformation with a strain gauge bridge applied to it, consisting of strain gauges connected to various electrical circuits. When the sensor is exposed to an external load due to deformation, the symmetry of the measuring bridge is violated and an electrical signal proportional to the applied effect on the sensor arises at the measurement terminals.
